25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
“KAMUSTA KA NA?”

The celebrations for the
25th anniversary was truly a night to remember. 64 of our brothers and sisters of Medicus were there to attend and renew ties with their old friends from
the best school organization that has been produced in the MCU-FDTMF College of Medicine. Five of the founding members including
Angel Araneta, Eduardo Flores, Teodoro Santos, Rizal Smiley Tan and Emmanuel Tiongson were present to share with one and all the feeling of family that was truly palpable throughout the entire night.
The program started at around 9 pm when the emcee and
Alumni President Alex Santos invited everyone to stand up for the singing of the
medicus hymn and recitation of the
medicus creed. The
opening remarks were given by
Spike Ignacio after which a power point presentation of
Medicus from the early days was given by
Butch Tiongson. After this, a
video presentation was shown courtesy of
Jeffrey Lee showing the pictures of the different batches of the organization from the early years till present. A short speech was given by
Eduardo Flores regarding
Medicus through the years.
All batches were called individually and members from each batch were asked to go in front of the stage for some picture taking. A minute of silence was given in memory of those who have passed on. And finally a short speech from
Angel Araneta capped the night, sharing his thoughts on the essence of what dedication, service and brotherhood truly meant in the lives of those who have committed themselves to the noble principles of this brotherhood.
The closing remark was given by our sister
Brigida Estabillo who was in Manila for a vacation and came all the way from California, USA. She is now practicing as a pediatric anesthesiologist in her area of responsibility.
After the end of the program, a business meeting was held to get the feedback of the alumni on how best the members may be contacted for future events of the organization. The body decided to elect an
eight man Board of Trustees who will decide on the future of the alumni organization as a whole. After the meeting, the emcee bid all farewell and everyone left feeling “bitin”. Friends and small clicks went out to spend the rest of the night somewhere in the still open clubs around the Quezon City area.
We wished the
Medicus Alumni Association USA Chapter the happiest new year and the most prosperous for all. We thanked Alex Pineda who has shown his commitment with the fraternity/sorority by coming up with the medicus blog.

The reunion has shown to one and all that Medicus is a family worth coming back to and it seems that Medicus will continue to thrive in the years to come because of that vision and mission to which the founding members have aspired from the start of the inception of this noble group to this very day.

Our active younger Brods and Sisters during the 25th Anniversary Party. On the slide that was made they were seen during the presentation of the batches. I think this also serves as the Final Acceptance of Argentum Durus. The picture was taken using a cellphone thus their good looks and beauty were not that evident, some were even blurry. In this picture our beautiful sisters shines and our brods look like models (don't ask me of what). This is a picture of better quality hijacked from Mabel. Hope that other pictures will come in.
