Introduction

November 5, 2007

It has been 25 years since the founders started Medici Omnes Duciens ( MEDICUS). We have grown, became bigger, older and like a big family we tend to go to our own life's pursuits, ending up far from each other. We were far because we grow and seek out what was meant for us, and because we follow the dreams that we set out to do. To make other peoples lives a little better and to make our lives better. Just like when MEDICUS was started at Manila Central University (MCU) to make our lives as students a little better. This BLOG is a new media where we can express our wants and needs, to be able to connect with our brothers and sisters from all over the world. To connect again like we used to, back when we were students of medicine at MCU. To update our brothers and sisters regarding ourselves, including our whereabouts, our families and all the things we can think off. To tell our stories of what we used to be and what we are now, so that the younger generation will know. Preserving the heritage of Medicus as we saw it with our eyes in our time. (any comments regarding the post and the BLOG is appreciated)

i love Medicus

Since the creation of this BLOG in 2007 after a small reunion in Southern California with my MEDICUS brothers and sisters. A lot of our brothers and sisters were found as they found a focal point of connection in the electronic world of the world wide web. Some of them were actually surprised to find that our organization is on the web. Without this technology, we could have been floating somewhere by ourselves not knowing where other brothers and sisters might be. We would always wonder how they are doing right now and how we used to be. Personally I have made connections with my batch mate Allen Lumanog through this site. He actually stumbled upon us after he gone missing since 1986 when he left the Philippines. My co-intern, sister, friend, eating mate and group mate Odette Quinto founds us too, I have not made connections with her ever since graduating in 1989. Our brother Hassan that I have not seen even before graduation finally found us from the sands of Saudi Arabia. Slowly our brothers and sisters from Africa to Australia and other different parts of the world is finding each other on the web and reconnecting with each other.

We were able to see organized reunions in the United States using this site as a tool to connect with each other. Slowly we were made known to the world that such an organization exist.  Slowly we were finding out about ourselves too. Slowly we were finding out that our brothers and sisters were making a difference. Each one in his or her own ways is making peoples lives and their lives better and making their niche in a cruel world. Slowly we are also growing I hope to continue with this site, although sometimes ideas dry up and there is nothing to write. The purpose of which is so, we can continually although slowly find each other, and reminisce our times.

We now have our own site and a social site on the web. I was also able to secure our previous domain name of http://www.mediciomnesduciens.com/. This site is now our main site and could be found by anyone on the web. Embedded in this site is our social site to connect, discuss, talked of old times, update each other and flaunt our pictures and videos to each other. Only members can sign in and it could not be even found on the web as it is unlisted. If you have any concern please send an email to alexgpce@yahoo.com or at mediciomnesduciens@gmail.com.

To my brothers and sisters let us use the tools that we have and make our world a better place together.

I was just elated that someone is now continuing with the MEDICUS BLOG, my brother from another mother,  Ronnil Usano Ayson (O'neal). He is also encouraging our younger brothers and sisters to write new stories for our organization. I was only in medical school for 4 years yet I consider that as the most exciting years of my life. Being a MEDICUS, we have a lot of challenges that we survive and surpassed, happiness and joy to the max while doing and going through it. I can only tell my 4 years of stories when I was at MCU, our organization is now past its 30 years of its existence. I know for sure that there are more stories to tell, but It should be told by those who were making those stories themselves. I ran out of stories a while back. I just hope that other members will use this site to tell their stories and O'neal will be the editor in chief.

Thank you my brother for your efforts to steer this site.
