Friendster Account Group Description

The following is the Group Description of MEDICI OMNES DUCIENS on the friendster group account written and started by DOC_NANCS.

In 1982, the MCU-FDTMF College of Medicine was among the five leading medical institutions in the Philippines. The medical school was the training ground for young aspiring medical students from around the archipelago. The best professors and educators from the different fields of specialties of medicine were there to teach the young minds the essentials of medical education and practice. They were tasked to develop the know-how and skills necessary for a medical student to be able to diagnose and treat their ailing patients. They were the ones assigned to form the brains and spinal cord of the developing students that were all eager to learn and be future medical practitioners.

Although the atmosphere for learning was conducive for the students at that time, a general feeling of emptiness was palpable among the student populace. They were absorbed with what they thought was what they all needed to do, which were go to school listen to the lectures and read up on the topics assigned to them. There was nary an organized group that could cater to the need for the medical students to be exposed to real life situations where they will be able to apply what they have learned in the academy of medicine. There was no one assisting them on how to deal with people of the community that they were supposed to be working hard for. The medical school was sorely missing a subject that would teach them how to have a compassionate heart not only for their patients inside the hospital but for the community as well.

Then 13 students from the batch of 1984 came up with the idea of a medical fraternity, whose vision was to be a channel for everyone who needs medical attention and assistance. Their supreme objectives of dedication, service, and brotherhood were the moving force that guided every one towards a common goal of being able to serve their fellowmen regardless of economic status, politics or religion. Thus came about MEDICI OMNES DUCIENS the forerunner and trendsetter of all medical fraternities in the university.

After 24 years, this fraternity-sorority has been the heart of the college of medicine, helping the school produce the most rounded medical graduates, equipping them with not only the mind but the heart and compassion for their patients in the hospital as well as the community. MEDICUS lives and the fire within every member's heart continue to burn.

We love MEDICUS!
